Using this Eco Olive Pilar
Mussels
Your molds must be clean and free of contaminants. They should be at least at room temperature, although preheating to around 45-50°C can be beneficial.
Dyes
If using powdered dyes, heat the wax to approximately 75°C , add the dye and stir until dissolved. Powdered dyes can also be dissolved in the fragrance before adding to the melted wax.
Perfumes
This olive wax for molded candles and melts has been designed for use with fragrances at levels between 5-12%. The use of fragrances specifically developed for natural waxes is highly recommended.
Highlights
Natural waxes tend to require larger wicks than traditional paraffin waxes. The fragrance, dye, and configuration of the candle have a significant impact on choosing the best wick.
Casting and filling
Temporarily high temperatures (up to 90°C) have no negative effects as long as the wax is cooled quickly. Allow the wax to cool to the desired filling temperature, add the fragrance, and stir well.
Filling process
Depending on the type and size of the mold, the fragrance, the colorant used, and the desired effect, filling temperatures can vary. For best demolding, it is recommended to pour at a temperature of around 65°C, although this will depend on the size and shape of the candle being produced. Add and mix the fragrance just before filling, if possible. If you are having difficulty with the filling temperature, try increasing or decreasing the temperature in 5-10°C increments . Consider using preheated molds to improve demolding.
Two-step filling
EcoOlive Olive Wax for Molded Candles is designed to require a single pour. However, for some larger candles, additional filling may be necessary to achieve a perfect candle surface. A small amount of wax at a slightly higher temperature than the initial filling can be used to top off the candle before it has completely cooled.
Cooling the spark plugs
Allow the candles to cool slowly to room temperature (approximately 25°C) . The candles should be left undisturbed for 48 hours before testing.
Combustion test
It's important to check the wick. Test the candle for burn pool diameter and mushrooming after it has cooled for 48 hours. Experiment with different wicks until you achieve the desired burn pool diameter and a nice, clean flame.
Each combination of size, wax, dye, fragrance, and wick must be tested to achieve the optimal candle.
The color and shape of the chips may vary depending on the arrival and harvest.
