This wax is easy to use for making molded candles in latex, polycarbonate, and metal molds. It is perfect for producing molded candles or scented melts, as it allows excellent fragrance diffusion.
The color and shape of the flakes may vary depending on supply and harvest.
This coconut wax is specifically designed for making molded candles to which you can easily add fragrances and dyes to customize them.
Thanks to its perfect burn, your melts will diffuse fragrance very well. We recommend our various guides for creating your scented wax melts.
It does not emit toxic substances. Moreover, it produces neither smoke nor odor. Our coconut wax can therefore be easily used with fragrances and dyes. This vegetable wax is biodegradable and vegan. No animal products were used, and no animal testing was carried out during its production.
The melting point of this Pillar coconut wax is 52°C. This low melting point saves time and energy in candle molding.
For best results, melt your wax between 75°C and 80°C. Then add your fragrance, mix well, and pour immediately into your moulds.
We offer a wide selection of dyes to customise the colour of your candles. Available in liquid or granule form, these dyes can be added directly to melted wax. If you are using liquid dye, we recommend heating the wax to 70°C. For granulated dyes, it is best to heat the wax to around 75°C.
Moreover, if you want a darker or richer color, add a little black dye.
This coconut wax is compatible with a wide variety of fragrances, provided you choose high-quality ones. Low-quality fragrances may affect burning performance or weaken the scent throw.
For the best results with our fragrances specially designed for molded wax candles, we recommend a dosage of 5 to 12%. The fragrance should be added and mixed immediately before pouring.
When the wax reaches a temperature of 75°C, add the desired amount of fragrance. Stir gently but thoroughly to ensure that the fragrance is evenly distributed.
Consider pouring into preheated molds to improve demolding properties.
Better demoulding can be achieved by pouring the wax immediately after adding and mixing the ingredients.
For optimal pouring, molds should be at room temperature and ideally preheated to improve demolding properties. The ideal mold temperature is 45-50°C.
Natural waxes, like coconut wax, often require slightly thicker wicks than those used for paraffin. However, if the wick is too large, it may cause the wax to overflow or burn too hot. Conversely, a wick that is too thin may not melt the surface well, creating a tunnel around the flame. If the flame flickers or the burn seems uneven, try another type of wick.
For molded candles, we recommend using cotton spool wicks. We have round or flat wicks suitable for this use.
After pouring, let the candle cool at room temperature (about 25°C), then allow it to rest for at least 48 hours before any use. This resting period allows the wax and fragrance to stabilize properly, ensuring optimal burning and a beautiful finish.
You should let your candle rest for at least 48 hours before testing the burn.
The temperatures indicated above are the result of our internal tests and may differ from the values indicated in the supplier's technical data sheets.
