The 350 x 30 mm recycled polycarbonate pointed candle mould is ideal for creating slim, slender candles with a clean, even finish. Thanks to its rigid, transparent structure, it produces moulded candles with a professional finish, perfectly smooth and well shaped.
Made from recycled polycarbonate, this pointed candle mould combines strength, durability and precision. It stands up to repeated use and makes it easy to check the filling when pouring the wax.
The mould is supplied with a metal needle to keep the wick centred during manufacture. To ensure a good seal, we recommend using sealing paste or a suitable plug.
This mould is not suitable for making beeswax candles.
Polycarbonate is particularly popular for making moulded candles thanks to its rigidity and precision. Unlike soft moulds, it holds the shape of the candle perfectly and guarantees a uniform result.
This material offers a number of advantages:
For optimum demoulding, it is important to respect the manufacturing temperatures and the cooling time of the wax.
Melt your wax in a suitable container until it reaches 80-90°C, checking the temperature with a thermometer. Properly heated wax gives a smooth surface and makes it easier to remove from the mould.
Caution: never melt the wax directly in a pan or over an open flame.
If you wish to colour your candles, add a colouring powder to the melted wax, at a rate of approximately 2 to 4 g per 1 kg of wax. Mix carefully to obtain an even shade. Too much dye can affect the candle's combustion.
Choose a wick with a diameter of 30 mm. Make a double knot at the end of the wick, then insert it through the tip of the mould. Tension it and secure it with the metal needle supplied to keep it perfectly centred.
The knot must properly seal the opening to prevent any wax leaking out during casting.
Pour the liquid wax into the mould. When it cools, a hollow may appear in the centre. Simply top up with a little hot wax to obtain an even surface.
Once the wax has cooled completely, cut the knot at the base and carefully remove the candle from the mould. If unmoulding is difficult, place the mould in the fridge for a few minutes.
Always work on a protected surface and make sure the mould is clean and perfectly dry before use. Check the temperature of the wax with a thermometer to ensure optimum results.
Candles should always be moulded under adult supervision. Wax vapour becomes flammable at temperatures above 180°C.
The 350 x 30 mm recycled polycarbonate pointed candle mould is a robust and precise tool for all DIY candle makers. It produces elegant, regular candles that are suitable for both decoration and sale.
Practical and long-lasting, it's an excellent choice for successful DIY moulded candles with a professional finish.
