Kerasoy Pillar 4120 soy wax for exceptional scented wax creations

This natural wax is easy to use for making moulded candles in latex, polycarbonate and metal moulds. It is perfect for making moulded candles or scented pebbles, as it allows excellent diffusion of the fragrance.

Soy wax 4120 requires no additives for impeccable use.

Moulded candles

This 4120 soy wax is specifically designed for making moulded candles to which you can easily add fragrances and colourings to personalise them.

Scented wax melts

Thanks to its perfect combustion, your wax melts will diffuse the fragrance very well. We recommend our various guides for making your own scented wax melts.

Characteristics of 4120 soy wax for moulded candles

Soy wax 4120 is natural, biodegradable and vegan, and is specially designed for making moulded candles. It offers good fragrance diffusion, a smooth surface and even cooling for professional-quality creations. The wax generally only needs to be poured once for a uniform finish.

Characteristics linked to use

  • Melting point between 57 and 63°C, with a temporary tolerance of up to 90°C if cooled quickly.
  • Recommended fragrance dosage: 5 to 10%, to be adjusted according to your tests
  • Compatible with different types of colourants: powders, liquids, chips or blocks
  • Recommended resting time: 48 hours before combustion tests
  • Prefer wicks adapted to natural waxes, to be adjusted according to fragrance and mould diameter
  • Cooling at room temperature (~25°C ) is recommended for good stability

Quality and regulatory characteristics

  • Wax of natural origin, biodegradable and vegan
  • Not tested on animals and contains no animal products
  • Complies with European REACH regulation (EC n°1907/2006) and CLPregulation n°1272/2008
  • No substances classified as SVHC or endocrine disrupters identified by ECHA
  • Stable product, with no dangerous reactions when used correctly

It does not emit toxic substances. It does not emit smoke or odours. Our soya wax is therefore easy to use with perfumes and dyes. This vegetable wax is biodegradable and vegan. No animal products have been used and no animal testing has been carried out during its manufacture.

Partially used moulded candles can be remelted for re-moulding. However, it is recommended not to heat the wax a second time above 85°C.

Melting point and temperature of use

For optimum results, add your fragrance to the wax at between 75 and 77°C, then pour into your moulds at between 55 and 65°C.

Integration of colouring

We offer a wide selection of dyes to personalise the colour of your candles. Available in liquid, powder or chip form, these colourants are incorporated directly into the melted wax. If you use powdered dyes, you need to heat the wax to around 75°C. Then simply add the colourant and stir until dissolved.

It's also possible to add the powdered dye directly to the fragrance to dissolve it. If you use liquid or flake dyes in this way, make sure you heat the wax to 70°C before adding the dye.

Alternatively, if you want to add a darker or richer touch to your colour, add a little black dye.

Fragrance integration

This soy wax is compatible with a wide variety of fragrances, as long as you use high-quality fragrances. Lower-quality fragrances may impair combustion or weaken the olfactory impression.

For optimum results with our fragrances specially designed for wax-moulded candles, we recommend a dosage of between 7% and 10% and between 10% and 15% for wax melts. The fragrance should be added and mixed immediately before the pouring stage.

When the wax reaches a temperature of between 75 and 77°C, add the desired amount of fragrance. Stir gently but long enough to ensure even diffusion of the fragrance.

Using 4120 soy wax for scented moulded candles

Consider pouring into preheated moulds to improve demoulding properties.

Optimum mould filling

Better demoulding can be achieved by pouring at a temperature of around 55 to 65°C, depending on the type of mould (shape and material) but also on the colourants and fragrances added.

For optimum pouring, moulds should be at room temperature and, if possible, consider preheating them to improve demoulding properties. The ideal mould temperature would be 45-50°C.

Choice of wicks

Vegetable waxes, such as soy wax, often require slightly thicker wicks than those used for paraffin. But be careful: if the wick is too large, it can cause the wax to run or burn too much. On the other hand, a wick that is too thin may not melt the surface properly and create a tunnel around the flame. If the flame flickers or the burn doesn't seem even, don't hesitate to try another type of wick.

For moulded candles, we recommend you use cotton wicks in coils. We have round or flat wicks for this purpose.

Cooling conditions

After casting, allow the candle to cool to room temperature (around 25°C), then rest it for at least 48 hours before use. This resting time allows the wax and fragrance to stabilise, ensuring optimal combustion and a beautiful finish.

The temperatures indicated above are based on our internal tests and may differ from the values mentioned in the supplier's technical data sheets.

The colour and shape of the shavings may vary depending on the arrival and harvesting of the crop.
