This collection brings together Grasse fragrances guaranteed free from any CMR-classified substance and from ethyl phthalate. Here, "CMR-free" means zero presence: no component classified as Carcinogenic, Mutagenic or Reprotoxic enters the composition of these fragrances for candles, wax melts and homemade scented creations.

What does "CMR-free" really mean?

CMRs are substances, natural or synthetic, regulated by the European CLP framework. Some natural raw materials, such as orange blossom, may contain traces so tiny that they do not even appear on the safety data sheet (SDS). To clear up any confusion: a scent from this selection contains no CMR-classified substance whatsoever, in any proportion.

And what about phthalates?

The only phthalate used in perfumery is ethyl phthalate, not considered hazardous under current regulations — it is commonly found in cosmetics such as lip gloss or eyeliner. For total transparency, we have nevertheless excluded it from this range: your scented creations are therefore 100% phthalate-free.

A reassuring alternative, not a warning

Our other fragrances containing CMRs remain perfectly safe under normal conditions of use: diluted at around 10% in wax, their concentrations fall far below regulatory thresholds. This collection is designed for makers who want a "zero classified substance" selling point, simplified labelling for resale or maximum reassurance for their customers. Crafted in Grasse by master perfumers, these scents comply with IFRA and CLP standards, are cruelty-free and suitable for vegans.
