100% natural yellow beeswax for handmade candles

Discover our pure, natural yellow beeswax, ideal for making handmade candles and creating scented melts.

This wax has a warm golden hue, a naturally sweet fragrance and a long burn time.

Used on its own or as an additive to your vegetable waxes, it enhances your creations by adding shine, hardness and better olfactory diffusion.

Beeswax, an excellent additive

Adding beeswax as an additive to your candles and melts prolongs their burning time thanks to its higher melting point. This makes it more resistant to heat and allows it to melt more slowly. As a result, your candles consume less raw material each time they are used, for a longer, more even burn.

We recommend combining it with vegetable or mineral waxes.

  • For scented candles: add 5 to 10% melted beeswax (around 75°C) to your scented mixture.
  • For melts: add 5% beeswax to your soy wax for a glossier finish and better fragrance diffusion.

Ideal for creating 100% beeswax candles

For 100% beeswax moulded candles, if you use pure beeswax, choose silicone or latex moulds, as beeswax shrinks very little. It is therefore not suitable for rigid polycarbonate moulds.

If you want a clear finish or an immediate white result, opt for white beeswax, as exposure to UV rays can gradually bleach the wax.

How to use yellow beeswax

Terre de Bougies beeswax has a high melting point, between 60°C and 65°C, unlike other waxes such as soy wax.

We recommend heating the wax up to 90°C, then adding the fragrance when the temperature drops to around 80°C or 75°C.

The colourant can be added at this stage: around 70°C for liquid colourant or around 75°C for granulated colourant.

Finally, pour in the wax immediately to achieve a smooth, even finish.

Which wick should I choose for beeswax?

For beeswax, choose TCR, ECO, STABILO waxed wicks, round coil wicks or wooden wicks.

Your choice of size will depend on the diameter of your container. Refer to our correspondence tables to find the ideal wick.

Remember to carry out several tests. A wick that is too thin can lead to tunneling, i.e. incomplete melting of the wax.
