The 40 x 123 mm polycarbonate pointed cylinder candle mould is ideal for creating moulded candles with clean, regular lines. Its rigid, transparent structure produces a perfectly smooth cylinder with a meticulous, professional finish.
Polycarbonate is a strong, durable material, designed to withstand many uses. Its transparency facilitates visual inspection during casting and ensures clean demoulding when the various manufacturing stages are respected.
We do not recommend the use of beeswax in polycarbonate moulds.
Unlike flexible moulds, polycarbonate guarantees excellent stability and perfect shape retention. In particular, it offers
For optimal demoulding, it is important to respect the temperature of the wax and the cooling time.
Place your wax in a suitable container and heat to 80-90°C, monitoring the temperature with a thermometer. A well-controlled temperature ensures an even surface and makes it easier to remove from the mould.
Caution: never melt the wax directly in a pan or over an open flame.
To colour your cylindrical candles, add liquid or granular colourant at a rate of around 2 to 4 g per 1 kg of wax. You can test the shade by pouring a small amount of wax into cold water. Too high a dosage can alter the quality of combustion.
Choose a wick suited to the diameter of the mould. Make a double knot at one end and insert it through the tip of the mould. Secure it at the other end with a pin so that the knot correctly blocks the opening and prevents any wax leaking out.
Pour the liquid wax into the mould. As it cools, a slight hollow may form in the centre. If necessary, top up with a little hot wax. To make a layered mould, the mould can be tilted slightly and held in a suitable support.
When the wax has cooled completely, cut the knot at the base and carefully remove the candle. If necessary, place the mould in the fridge for a few minutes to make removal easier.
Work on a protected surface and wear an apron. Check that the mould is perfectly clean and dry before use. Always check the temperature of the wax using a thermometer.
Candles should only be made under adult supervision. Wax vapour becomes flammable at temperatures above 180°C. Never leave a candle burning unattended and place it on a fire-resistant surface.
The polycarbonate cylinder candle mould is a reliable accessory for craft candle makers. Strong, precise and reusable, it produces elegant, regular cylindrical candles, ideal for decorating or selling.
The mould comes with a metal needle to hold the wick in place. Use sealing paste or a plug to ensure a watertight seal.
