Specially developed for the creation of pillar moulded candles and scented melts, PillarBlend EcoOlive olive wax is a 100% vegetable wax of natural origin, blended with natural additives to improve combustion and scent diffusion, combining performance and respect for the environment. Completely biodegradable and free from paraffin, palm and animal ingredients, it has not been tested on animals and is ideal for vegans.
It offers excellent fragrance diffusion, a smooth surface with an attractive finish and is extremely easy to use, thanks to its ability to require just one pour for optimum results.
EcoOlive PillarBlend is designed to produce moulded candles with a clean finish and even burn. It supports up to 12% fragrance, for intensely scented, harmonious creations.
Thanks to its clean burn and excellent fragrance retention, this wax is also ideal for making scented melts that release their aromas both cold and hot. Our dedicated step-by-step guides will help you get the job done.
EcoOlive PillarBlend olive wax is natural, biodegradable and vegan, and is specially designed for the production of moulded candles and scented fondants. It offers excellent fragrance diffusion, a smooth surface with a subtle shine, and only needs to be poured once for an even finish. Its composition makes it easy and clean to remove from the mould.
You can use dyes in powder, liquid or chip form. For powdered dyes, melt the wax at 75°C, add the dye and mix until completely dissolved.
Tip: you can also dissolve the powder colourant in the fragrance before adding it to the melted wax for more even integration.
Use fragrances specially designed for vegetable waxes, at a recommended dosage of between 5 and 12%. Carefully mix the fragrance into the melted wax just before casting for optimum scent diffusion.
A better release from the mould can be obtained by pouring at a temperature of around 65°C, depending on the type of mould (shape and material) and the colourants and fragrances added.
For best results, make sure your moulds are at room temperature. To make removal from the mould easier and improve the final quality, it may be a good idea to heat them slightly.
Vegetable waxes tend to require larger wicks than traditional paraffin waxes. The fragrance, colourant and configuration of the candle have a major impact on the choice of the best wick. But be careful: if the wick is too large, it can cause the wax to run or burn too much. Conversely, if the wick is too thin, it may not melt the surface properly and create a tunnel around the flame. If the flame flickers or if the combustion does not seem regular, do not hesitate to test another type of wick.
It's important to check the wick. Test the candle for the diameter of the burning pool and the formation of "mushrooms" after it has cooled for 48 hours. Try different wicks until you get the desired burn-pool diameter and a nice clean flame.
After pouring, allow the candle to cool to room temperature (around 25°C), then rest it for at least 48 hours before use. This rest period allows the wax and fragrance to stabilise, guaranteeing optimum combustion and a beautiful finish.
The temperatures indicated above are the result of our internal tests and may differ from the values indicated in the supplier's technical data sheets.
The colour and shape of the shavings may vary depending on the arrival and harvesting of the crop.
