The 44 x 65 mm polycarbonate pointed cylinder candle mould is ideal for creating moulded candles with clean, regular lines. Thanks to its rigid, transparent structure, it produces a perfectly smooth cylinder, with a meticulous finish worthy of professional production.
Polycarbonate is a tough, durable material that is suitable for repeated use. It facilitates visual inspection during casting and offers clean demoulding when the manufacturing steps are followed correctly.
We do not recommend using beeswax in polycarbonate moulds.
Unlike flexible moulds, polycarbonate ensures excellent stability and perfect shape retention. It provides :
For optimum demoulding, it is essential to respect the wax temperature and cooling times.
Pour your wax into a suitable container and heat to 80-90°C, checking with a thermometer. A controlled temperature is essential to obtain an even surface and make removal from the mould easier.
Warning : never melt the wax directly in a pan or over an open flame.
To personalise your cylindrical candles, add granulated or liquid colouring, about 2 to 4 g for 1 kg of wax. Test the colour by pouring a small amount of wax into cold water. Too much colourant can affect the combustion quality.
Choose a wick to match the diameter of the mould. Make a double knot at one end and insert it through the tip of the mould. Secure it at the other end with a pin, making sure that the knot covers the opening properly to prevent any leaks.
Fill the mould with the liquid wax. When it cools, a hollow may appear in the centre. Top up by pouring in a little hot wax if necessary. For layered moulding, the mould can be tilted slightly and stabilised in a suitable support.
Once the wax has cooled completely, cut the knot at the base and carefully remove the candle. If necessary, place the mould in the fridge for a few minutes to make removal easier.
Work on a protected surface and wear an apron. Make sure the mould is perfectly clean and dry before use. Always check the temperature of the wax using a thermometer.
Candles should always be moulded under adult supervision. Wax vapour becomes flammable at temperatures above 180°C. Never leave a candle burning unattended, and place it on a fire-resistant surface.
The polycarbonate cylinder candle mould is a reliable tool for all DIY candle makers. Robust, precise and reusable, it produces elegant cylindrical candles that are perfectly regular and suitable for both decoration and sale.
