This 100% soy wax has been specially developed for the creation of container candles. Soy wax 4130 is suitable for creating scented candles and for candles in containers (jar, glass, tin, etc.). A whole host of recipes are possible with this wax.
Soy wax is a great solution when you want to make your own candles in containers. It has a number of advantages that make it easy to create high-quality candles. The colour and shape of the shavings can vary depending on the availability and harvest.
Soy wax has a low melting point, making it an excellent wax for massage candles. It burns optimally, releasing a delicate fragrance as you use it. To help you make a success of your creations, we've put together a selection of complete guides dedicated to making scented massage candles.
KeraSoy Container 4130 soy wax is natural, biodegradable and vegan, and is specially designed for making container candles. It offers excellent fragrance diffusion, a smooth surface, good adhesion to glass and gives an even finish, generally in a single pour.
Soy wax has a low melting point (42-48°C). It is easier to handle than other waxes, which have to be heated for longer.
If you wish to add granulated colourant, heat the wax to approx. 75°C and stir until completely dissolved. The colourant can also be dissolved in the perfume before being added to the melted wax.
For liquid colourants, heat the wax to approx. 70°C.
For a darker or more intense shade, add a small amount of black colourant. You'll find a whole range of dyes on our site to give your candle a beautiful colour.
Being odourless, soy wax will not alter the fragrances in your creations. The fragrance is added after the colourant has been integrated.
This soy wax for container candles can be used with any type of fragrance, but we recommend that you choose excellent quality ones like those from Terre de Bougies. An entry-level fragrance could alter the combustion of the candle and not give an optimal scent.
If you use our candle fragrances, you can use a dosage of between 7 and 10%.
Soy wax 4130 is perfect for scented cast candles with a beautiful burn that leaves no residue on the container. This vegetable wax is also natural and cruelty-free.
Melt the wax gently in a bain-marie and do not exceed 80°C. The melting point is around 45°C. After pouring, allow to cool to room temperature (20°-25°C). Filling requires only one pour.
With soy wax, we recommend TCR or ECO type candle wicks, to be chosen according to the diameter of your container.
Vegetable waxes, such as soya wax, often require slightly thicker wicks than those used for paraffin wax. But be careful: if the wick is too large, it can cause the wax to run, burn too quickly or dig into the edges of the container. On the other hand, a wick that is too thin may not melt the surface properly and create a tunnel around the flame. If the flame flickers or if the burn does not seem regular, do not hesitate to test another type of wick.
Once the candle has been cast, it should be allowed to cool to room temperature, and left to rest for 48 hours before use. This will ensure that the candle holds perfectly!
The temperatures given above are the result of our in-house tests and may differ from the values given in the supplier's technical data sheets.
