One of the great advantages of Jesmonite is that it can be easily coloured to create unique objects, perfectly tailored to your tastes or your interior design scheme. From soft, natural shades to the most intense colours, including marbled or stone-effect finishes, the possibilities for customisation are almost endless.
To achieve a result that is both attractive and durable, Jesmonite® pigments have been specially formulated to blend perfectly with the brand’s materials. Liquid and water-based, they ensure even, intense and stable colouring, without altering the technical properties of your mixture.

What Jesmonite pigments allow you to do
- Create your own colours: as the pigments are fully miscible with one another, they can be freely mixed to create an unlimited palette of shades.
- Adjust the amount to achieve the desired intensity: a few drops for a subtle effect, or more for a bold, rich colour (see the dosage guidelines below).
- Experiment with textural effects: whether you’re aiming for a uniform colour or a marbled effect, the results will depend on your mixing technique.
- Achieve a consistent result: a liquid formulation ensures perfect distribution throughout the mixture, without lumps or unwanted marbling.
Did you know? Black pigment is particularly popular for creating slate, dark concrete or basalt effects, and for producing a whole range of greys when combined with other colours.
Two techniques depending on the desired effect
Uniform colour
Mix the pigment directly into the Jesmonite liquid before combining it with the powder.
Marbled effect
Add the pigment to the already prepared mixture, then mix gently to preserve the colour veins.
Dosage: key figures to note
- Standard dosage: between 0.5% and 1% of the total weight of the mixture, sufficient to produce an intense and elegant colour in the vast majority of projects.
- Maximum dosage: 2 per cent of the total weight; do not exceed this to preserve setting time, mechanical strength and colour consistency.
Excessive dosage may alter the material’s technical properties. Always test on a small quantity before starting production.
Instructions for use
- Shake the bottle before each use to ensure the pigment is evenly distributed.
- Carry out your tests on small quantities to precisely adjust the desired colour.
- Store your pigments in a clean, dry place, at a temperature between 5 °C and 25 °C.
Please note before use: Jesmonite pigments have not been tested for food safety; they must therefore not be used in creations intended to come into direct contact with food.
Storing Jesmonite® pigments
For optimum performance, the products must be stored at a constant temperature between 5 and 25 °C. Store them in a clean, dry place, away from any contaminants. Avoid freezing.
