The benefits of candle massage are becoming increasingly popular. From its physical and psychological benefits to its sense of well-being and lightness, we're going to explain the recipe, how it's made using soya wax and how to use it to guarantee you the most tender experience!

The massage candle concept
Having seen the steps involved in creating a wax chantilly, let's move on to the concept of the massage candle. Candle massage is a massage technique that has been gaining in popularity in recent years, although there are still a number of obstacles to the marketing of these cosmetics.
It is characterised by well-being, gentleness and lightness. It offers physical and psychological soothing for the recipient. In fact, massage candles contain pure oils that nourish and soften your skin, making it more elastic (no less!).
Choice of wax: opt for soy wax!
The main raw material for massage candles is soya wax, which has a low melting point(50°C) but is also suitable for dermatological use. Adding oil and/or butter will lower the melting point by a few more degrees.
We recommend using soy wax for candles containing C3. It is 100% soya. We also recommend using coconut oil, which will give the wax a slippery feel, and shea butter, which will nourish your skin for a truly cocooning moment.

Making your own massage candle
Now that the theory is out of the way, it's time to get practical!
- Melt the soy wax, coconut oil and shea butter in a bowl.
- Place your waxed wick in the centre of the container.
- Once the mixture has reached a temperature of 76°C, take your container out of its heating mode and add the Monoï fragrance oil. Stir for about 2 minutes.
- When your mixture reaches a temperature of between 70 and 73°C, pour your mixture between the wall of the container and the wick without touching it.
- Leave to cool at room temperature for a few hours...
Here's another way to make your massage candle if you don't have any shea butter:
How do I use a massage candle?
Can't wait to get started? Then light your candle! A few minutes later, when the pool around the wick is large enough, extinguish your candle.
Check the temperature and pour the melted soy wax over the part of the body to be massaged.
For example, after a pleasant candlelit dinner, enjoy this moment of total relaxation with its predominantly floral, fruity notes, with a hint of coconut... It's the perfect way to soothe your body and mind and recharge your batteries with a touch of tenderness.
Recommendations for use
You can change the fragrance oil, but be sure to check the recommended dosage in category 5A in the IFRA certificate (available in "Downloads" on each of our fragrance sheets) for application to the skin without rinsing.
As with all products for cutaneous use, we recommend that you first carry out a test in the crease of your elbow to check that you are not having an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients in your candle. It would be a shame if all your efforts turned into a nightmare!
If you're interested in selling massage candles, we advise you to find out more. Massage candles are considered cosmetic products and are subject to very strict regulations. It is essential to have your product tested under the authority of an allergist.
Compulsory information on the container
The container of your massage candle must include a number of compulsory items of information, written in French:
- Name and address of the manufacturer.
- Complete list of ingredients (INCI nomenclature).
- Date of minimum durability or date of use after opening.
If you fail to comply with the regulations, you could face up to 2 years' imprisonment and a fine of up to €30,000.
