This tropical paradise candle combines soft colours, a sunny fragrance and delicate floral decorations to recreate the warm atmosphere of exotic destinations. Pair it with an ocean candle to create a duo inspired by breathtaking tropical landscapes, where crystal-clear waters meet exotic flowers and white sandy beaches.
The ‘Monoï’ fragrance enhances this creation with its sunny, exotic notes. You can also personalise your candle with other summery scents to create your very own tropical world.
The essential ingredients for this creation
Raw materials
- Olive wax for moulded candles
- Olive wax for container candles
- C3 soya wax for the wax whipped cream
- 7% to 10% ‘Monoï’ candle fragrance
- Yellow liquid colourant
- Pink liquid colouring

- 200 mL clear container
- 30/18 wick suitable for the container
- Self-adhesive disc
- Wick centring tool
- Plumeria mould
- Pipette
- Beakers
- Mixing stick or spatula
- Whisk
- Piping bag
- Nozzle
- Thermometer
- Bain-marie or cast-iron pan
Steps for making your tropical paradise candle
1. Create the pastel gradient effect in the container
- Start by securing your wick in the centre of the transparent container using a self-adhesive disc, then keep it perfectly straight using the wick centre guide.
- Melt the olive candle wax in the container, then pour in a small amount to form the base of the candle.
- Next, add 2 to 3 drops of yellow liquid colouring and 2 to 3 drops of pink liquid colouring directly into the still-liquid wax. Using a skewer or spatula, mix very gently to preserve the colour nuances without blending them completely.
- Tilt the container slightly, then gently pour the wax down the sides until it reaches about halfway up the container. This technique creates a lovely pastel gradient reminiscent of the colours of a tropical sunset.
- Leave to set for about an hour. Whilst the wax in the container is cooling, prepare the floral decorations.
2. Making the tropical flowers
- Melt some olive wax for moulded candles, then divide it between two beakers.
- Colour the first mixture yellow and the second pink.
- Using a pipette, carefully place a few drops of the first colour at the bottom of the Plumeria mould. Then pour in the second colour to fill the mould completely. This process creates pretty two-tone flowers with a natural gradient.
- Leave to set completely before removing from the mould.
- If you wish to separate the flowers, gently heat a metal needle, then run it along the separation lines to cleanly detach each flower.
3. Finishing the candle
- Once the gradient has set completely, melt some more olive candle wax in a container.
- Add between 7% and 10% ‘Monoï’ candle fragrance at the recommended temperature, then stir gently to distribute the fragrance evenly.
- Then pour this scented wax into the container up to the top of the gradient created earlier.
- Leave to cool and set completely before moving on to the final decoration.
4. Preparing the scented whipped wax
- Melt approximately 150 g of C3 soya wax, which is particularly suitable for making wax whipped cream.
- Add between 7% and 10% ‘Monoï’ candle fragrance, then mix thoroughly.
- Leave the wax to cool until it begins to thicken. Then whisk the mixture with a whisk until it has a firm, light and airy texture.
- Place the whipped wax into a piping bag fitted with the nozzle of your choice, then proceed to decorate the candle.
5. Decorate the tropical paradise candle
- Pipe the whipped wax generously over the entire surface of the candle.
- As you decorate, alternate rosettes of whipped cream with the tropical flowers you made earlier to create a rich, colourful and harmonious design.
- Take care not to place the decorations too close to the wick to ensure the candle burns properly.
- Then leave the candle to set completely before handling it.
Decorating tip
To emphasise the tropical feel of your creation, make several flowers with different colour gradients by varying the proportions of pink and yellow. This will give a more natural look, reminiscent of freshly bloomed exotic flowers.
You can also experiment with the height and shape of the whipped cream to give your candle more volume. 
Storage advice
Store your candle away from heat and direct sunlight to preserve its pastel colours, fragrance and the quality of its wax foam.
To minimise dust build-up, protect your creation with a glass dome when not in use.
