Step-by-step recipe for a spring candle
Steps for preparing decorative flowers
Tip:
To make your fondants easier to remove from the mould, add 5% beeswax to your vegetable wax. You're guaranteed to get a shinier finish and better fragrance diffusion!
- Heat the cast candle wax to 80°C. Use around 60g of raw wax to fill the two moulds "Amas de fleurs" and "Marguerite".
- When the wax reaches 75°C, add the fragrance and stir for 2 to 3 minutes to ensure that the fragrance is fully incorporated and diffuses perfectly.
- Divide your preparation into 3 or moreparts depending on the number of colour variations you want.
- Add the colouring agents after the fragrance has been incorporated:
- Liquid dye: at around 70°C
- Granulated colour : at around 75°C
Mix carefully until you obtain a homogenous colour. - When the wax has cooled to between 60°C and 65°C, pour the mixture into the flower-shaped moulds.
- Leave to harden for several hours, then carefully remove from the moulds to preserve the details.

Steps for preparing the candle base
- Heat the cast candle wax to 80°C. For a 730ml container (the one used in this tutorial), use around 440g of wax, allowing a slight margin to ensure that your container is full.
- Prepare the container. If you're using cotton wicks, attach 2 to 3 wicks using self-adhesive pads and then centre them. Adapt the number and size of the wicks to the diameter, here we recommend :
-
- 2 wicks: TCR 30/18
- 3 wicks: TCR 24/12
The Zen Attitude wooden wick can also be used for an adapted combustion. Make sure that the arrangement of the fluxes does not interfere with the flame.
- At 75°C, add the fragrance and stir for 2 to 3 minutes.
- If you want to colour the base:
- Liquid colour : add at 70°C
- Granulated colourant: add at 75°C - Allow the wax to come down to between 60°C and 65°C before pouring to limit cracks, bubbles and crystallisation.

- Leave to rest for several hours, then cut the wicks to 0.5 to 0.7 cm.
- Using a heat gun, lightly heat the surface to make it easier for the decorative flowers to adhere, then arrange them according to your composition.

- If necessary, add a touch of mica, taking care not to exceed 2 to 3 g per 100 g of wax. If you use dried flowers, be sure to treat them with a suitable fireproof product to limit any risk when they burn.
Ideas for colour combinations for your fondants
Take advantage of this opportunity to combine fragrances with colours to create coherent, immersive worlds.
This very soft colour theme goes perfectly with fragrances such as "Sakura Flower", "Apricot Flower", "Driftwood" and "Pacific Sunrise".

This more floral palette is ideal with : "Eternal Rose", "Peony", "Cherry Milk", "Poppy".

Finally, this more peppy trio of colours evokes spring fragrances such as: "Orange Blossom", "Clementine", "Mimosa".

Conclusion
Think of this project as a creative playground: coordinate your shades with coherent olfactory accords, imagine thematic series (floral pastels, mineral greens, sunny citrus fruits) and take care to stage your photos or your stand. Slip in a scented card, offer a matching box and let your customers put together their own "candle + fondant" duo.
