Recipe for a successful snow globe candle
What you need:
- Clear glass candle container
- Sequins
- LX Wick
- Paraffin gel
- Cast wax of your choice
- Precision scale and cooking thermometer
- Small container for heating wax and gel
Making your snow globe candle:
1. Place the biodegradable glitter in the bottom of the transparent container.

2. Add a little warm water to the container to create a visual space around the glitter.

3. Heat the paraffin gel to between 84°C and 95°C (to prevent bubbles). Be careful not to exceed 110°C. You can customize your gel with coloring or fragrance as desired, following the recommended dosages for candles. Slowly pour the gel in a layer large enough to act as a seal.

4. Place the LX wick in the center, adapted to your container. It is recommended for combining gel and wax.

5. Wait a few hours for the gel to harden. 2 hours is usually enough.
6. Melt your poured wax (of your choice) at approximately 65°C; this will form the top of your candle. The wax should not be too hot, as this will melt the gel. You can personalize your wax with coloring or fragrance as desired.
You then get a candle with three visually contrasting phases.

Tips for storing your candle
To ensure the durability and safety of your candle:
- Ensure the layers are airtight. When pouring the wax, make sure the gel is completely solidified and free of cracks. A cracked gel can allow water to seep through or create micro-leaks around the wick.
- Dust and evaporation protection. Use a small candle lid or breathable protective film to prevent dust from settling on the surface. This also limits fragrance evaporation.
Mandatory labeling for sale
If you want to sell your handmade candles, regulations are strict and aim to ensure consumer safety. Every candle placed on the market must contain mandatory information.
You will find an introduction to the CLP regulation in our dedicated guide.
Reminder: Failure to comply with regulations may result in imprisonment and fines.
