Jesmonite is a water-based composite material, halfway between plaster, resin and concrete. Developed in the United Kingdom in the 1980s, this eco-resin combines a gypsum mineral filler with an acrylic resin: once mixed, they form a fluid paste that is easy to pour into a mould and sets into a solid, lightweight material with a delicately satin mineral finish. Solvent-free and VOC-free, it stands out as an eco-friendly, non-toxic alternative to conventional resins.
If this material appeals just as much to craft enthusiasts as to seasoned makers, it is because it brings together qualities that rarely go hand in hand: easy handling, an on-trend decorative finish and a low environmental impact.
Water-based, solvent-free and free of volatile organic compounds, the eco-resin gives off very little odour and cleans up with lukewarm water. A reassuring choice for creating at home, in the studio or on a corner of the kitchen table.
Once dry, Jesmonite becomes impact-resistant while remaining surprisingly lightweight. It can be coloured throughout, sanded and varnished, and lends itself to a host of effects: plain, marbled, terrazzo or pearlescent. Enough to suit every style, from the most minimalist to the most daring.
For candle and scented-product makers, Jesmonite opens up fresh ground: crafting your own candle vessels, decorative objects and matching stands for your scented creations. A way to offer fully personalised pieces, stand out and seize new commercial opportunities.
We have brought together everything you need to take your creations from start to finish: bases, pigments, decorations, moulds, additives and accessories. Each product family supports a specific stage of the making process.
The heart of the material relies on a two-component system: a mineral powder and an acrylic liquid. Jesmonite AC100, with its smooth, satin finish, is ideal for getting started and shaping decorative indoor objects. Jesmonite AC730, more robust and enriched with mineral fillers, offers a stone-like finish and is suited to the most heavily used pieces.
Our range of intermixable pigments lets you create an infinite variety of shades: just a few per cent are enough to achieve a bold colour. To go further, granite and recycled glass aggregates create an authentic terrazzo effect, while gold metal leaf adds a precious touch.
Flexible, reusable and easy to release, silicone moulds give shape to your ideas: vases, pots, trays, dishes and design-led forms. They faithfully reproduce the finest details, creation after creation.
To master every stage, discover the additives that adjust the working time and the fluidity of the mix, as well as the varnish that seals and protects the porous surface of your objects. In terms of equipment, mixing bowls, an anti-bubble vibrating plate and sanding abrasives round out your studio.
The possibilities are vast: trinket trays, dishes, trays, soap dishes, vases, pots and planters, but also tealight holders and candle vessels. Each piece, unique in its colour and patterns, dresses an interior with character — on its own or in a matching collection.
Sturdy and impact-resistant, Jesmonite remains a porous material by nature. A suitable sealer waterproofs it and protects it lastingly from water, while enhancing its finish. A light sanding is all it takes to perfect the edges for a clean, professional result.
